Soup suppers begin at local churches

The Lenten Soup Suppers have begun and community members are invited to attend the annual event.

The theme for the Ritzville Ministerial Association’s Lenten Season is “Were you there?” Each soup supper is served and immediately followed by a short worship service.

Local churches began the Lenten Soup Suppers on March 12 at the Ritzville Foursquare Church.

The next soup supper is at the New Hope Church at 6 p.m. on March 19. Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ hosts a soup supper on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m.

In the month of April, the Menno Mennonite Church is hosted the event on Wednesday, April 2, at 6 p.m.

St. Agnes Catholic Church is serving the final soup supper on April 9 at 6 p.m.

The final service is on Good Friday at the Trinity United Methodist Church on April 18 at 7 p.m., but soup will not be served.
