Registration is open for popular Bloomsday race

With a little over two months before the 38th running of the Lilac Bloomsday Run, over 8,000 runners and walkers have registered, and a final tally of 50,000 is expected by race day. Registration for the 12-kilometer race is still open for the May 4 event.

The Bloomsday experience is similar to the 2013 event, with participants starting on Riverside Avenue and finishing at the north end of the Monroe Street Bridge. Timing this year will once again be accomplished with the B-tag, the latest adaptation of RFID technology. The B-tag is embedded on the number itself and only has to be worn to work...
