Walkers, joggers welcome to use new track

Area residents are welcome to use the new all-weater track at the Jimmie Snider Field sports complex at Lind-Ritzville High School.

Athletic Director Greg Whitmore said community members can use it at any time for walking, jogging, running and various exercise routines.

Those using the track can gain entrance to the facility alongside the grandstands where the ticket booth is located.

Whitmore asks that people use the outside lanes of the track. During actual track meets lanes No. 1 and No. 2 are used the most by athletes and tend to show wear and tear the fastest.

If walkers stay to the outside lanes, this will help alleviate some of the wear the inside lanes experience.

Whitmore also said that dogs are not allowed on the grounds or on the new track surface.

Everyone is asked to take pride in the facility and make sure they gather up any trash before leaving.

Skateboards and bicycles are also prohibited.
