Pilot’s Safety Seminar in Moses Lake

The Washington Flying Farmers and Big Bend Community College is sponsoring a Pilot’s Safety Seminar on Saturday, Feb. 8, in Moses Lake. The seminar is free and will be held at BBCC Flight Training Center Building 3000 at Grant County International Airport.

The seminar is open to all pilots or anyone interested in flying. It will qualify for three credits for the Wings Program and the flying farmer’s ground school portion of the APT Program.

The instructors are Bob Clarke from Wenatchee and John Swedburg Chief Flight Instructor, BBCC.

Topics to be covered will include: Annual Proficiency Training, TFR’s, Special Use Airspace, Changes to the AIM, Sport Pilot and Light Sport Aircraft, TSA and General Aviation Runway Safety, FAA Pilot Proficiency Program and Cold Weather Operations along with the changes in aviation that have occurred in the last year. Participants are asked to bring a current sectional chart.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at BBCC, and refreshments are available. The seminar begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. with a break for lunch at noon. Participants can bring a sack lunch or eat downtown.
