Lady Broncos win nonleague pair, Bennett scores 31

With Jenna Bennett leading the team scoring Friday and Saturday night, the LRS Lady Broncos recorded a pair of nonleague wins during the Christmas week.

Friday at St. John-Endicott the Lady Broncos picked up a 38-32 win.

“It’s a team we played close last year but couldn’t quite beat them,” said head coach John Galbreath. “It took us two quarters to get going but we were able to put together two nice short runs in the second half. One to take the lead and another to extend our lead. It was a good road victory for us albeit not the prettiest game played.”

Bennett led the team with 13 points. Mallory Kessler finished with 8. Dalyn Killian provided six points. Sydney Nelson and Tessa Jantz each had three. Tommi Swannack scored two and Felicia Ziemer had one point.

The Lady Broncos defeated Royal Saturday at home, 62-41.

Bennett led the team scoring with 18 points. Kessler delivered 17 points.

Nelson added 11 points and Swannack had 10. Jantz recorded eight points.

“Royal City is a much improved team from last year to this year,” Galbreath said. “We played flat but well enough to get a lead early and stay on top throughout. Killian was out sick Saturday night. Both nights we were led by our juniors, Jenna Bennett and Mallory Kessler.
