Barking Points

The girl basketball games last week were great! Monday we played against Wilbur-Creston and Thursday against Almira-Coulee/Hartline. Wilbur-Creston scores were A squad 31-6 LRMS won. B squad 20-17 LRMS won. Almira-Coulee-Hartline score was A squad 28-31 LRMS lost. B squad 22-14 LRMS won.

Mrs. Fryberger, coach of the B-team, commented about Monday’s game, “Our game against Wilbur-Creston started out slow. We were struggling to keep our defense together and we were really lethargic on offense. The girls rallied at the end and we did win, which is good.â€

She also commented on Thursday’s game, “Our game against ACH was much better! The girls came out fighting and we jumped to a quick lead. ACH figured out our offense and that shut us down for a while. The girls did a great job executing some, ‘time-out plays’ that we put together and that pulled us back up to a good lead. The thing I was MOST pleased with was our improvement on defense and how the girls used fast breaks more effectively. We had been practicing both, and it paid off.â€

The A-team did well too! Mr. Nygren, A-team coach, said, “It was a hard fought game, both teams played well!â€

The coaches are proud and so is the rest of the Middle School.
