Annual Turkey Trot successful

The brisk early morning air did not prevent a large group of area residents from participating in the 26th Annual Turkey Trot through Ritzville on Thanksgiving morning. The traditional trot began in 1988 when three members of the Ritzville School District wellness committee started the event.

After the trotters had followed the course from the Ritz Theatre, John and Warren Kragt presented the traditional awards.

The fastest turkey of the day was Eric Gutierrez, who finished first. Closely following him was Kylie Fullmer and third place was awarded to Natalie Kinch.
