Speeding causes rollover on 261

Washington State Patrol responded to an injury, semi-truck rollover on State Route 261 on Wednesday, Nov. 13, around 1 p.m., with WSP reporting speed to be the cause of the rollover. The accident occurred 20 miles south of Ritzville with two injuries reported at the accident site.

James Constantine, 56, had been driving a 2013 Vanguard VIP4 Van and towing a 2014 freight 125 trailer. The Las Vegas driver was traveling southbound when the trailer slid off the roadway while the vehicle was negotiating a curve. The trailer slid into a ditch and caused the vehicle to roll onto its side.

Constantine and passenger Garry Means, 39, were both injured in the accident and transported to East Adams Rural Hospital. Both individuals were wearing restraints at the time of the accident, and drugs and alcohol were not involved.

The damage was reportable and the vehicle and trailer were impounded by Pete’s Towing.
