Arliene E. Roth

Arliene E. (Hille) Roth died at the age of 90 on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Cheney Care Center.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1923, to Daniel and Matilda Hille in Ritzville, she was the sixth of seven children.

She graduated in 1941 from Ritzville High School. She married Rudy Roth on Sept. 7, 1941, at the Ralston Community Church.

They had grown up a quarter mile apart on their family farms.

After marriage, they made their home in Ralston in the home her brother Emil (Moose) built.

There, they raised three children. In 1987, they moved to Ritzville.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, (especially bridge), bowling and watching the Seattle Mariners.

She was a member of the Zion Philadelphia Church and the Ralston Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rudy.

She is survived by her son, Lanny Roth (Cathy) of El Cajon, Calif .; daughter, Cathy (Ken) Smick of Spokane; son, Randy (Shirley) Roth of Ralston; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are to be held at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m.

Following the service, those attending are invited to a reception at the home of Randy and Shirley Roth.

The family suggests memorials to the Ralston Grange, PO Box 544, Ritzville, WA 99169; The American Diabetes Association 315 W Mission, Spokane, WA 99201; or the charity of your choice.

Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory of Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
