Ritzville Police Department Report

June 5, 9:46 a.m. – Dispatch advised of a complainant requesting contact in regards to an identity theft. Chief Dave McCormick contacted the complainant by phone who advised a female subject, and former roommate, used the complainant’s social security number, and a false name, to open an account at CenturyLink. There is a restraining order in place so the complainant cannot contact the subject directly. Chief McCormick advised the complainant to complete the affidavit with CenturyLink so the police can contact the subject regarding the fraud.

June 5, 8:35 p.m. – Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to a possible harassment call in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. Upon contact, the complainant advised of receiving harassing phone calls from another subject. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subject who advised there weren’t any problems with the complainant. The subject further advised they had tried to help the complainant get a job and things fell through, but they did not harass the complainant.

June 5, 6:54 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a fight in progress on the railroad tracks on North Adams Street. Officer Tom Gracie arrived and observed a male subject walking south across the tracks. Upon contacting the subject, they stated they got into an altercation with another subject who owes him money.

June 4, 12:58 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to an agency assist call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way. WSP Trooper Randall Elkins requested assistance with a vehicle search after locating meth in the purse of the suspect arrested.

June 4, 1:28 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a disorderly conduct call on South Division Street and East Fourth Avenue. Complainant advised of a heavy-set female subject walking up Division yelling at kids. The subject was gone upon arrival, Chief McCormick searched the area and did not locate the subject.

June 4, 9:54 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a possible theft in the 1500 block of Smitty’s Boulevard at Zip’s. Upon arrival, the complainant advised one of their employees’s had their purse stolen off the counter on May 31. The purse had $405 in U.S. Postal money orders, a debit card and driver’s license. The complainant believes the suspect is from Ritzville and can be identified from the security footage.

June 4, 7:51 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a trespassing call in the 200 block of East Alder Avenue. Complainant advised of a male subject they wanted trespassed from the property. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant if the subject showed up to call the police for assistance.

June 3, 11:20 p.m. – While on patrol, Sergeant Cameron contacted juveniles out in the 1100 block of South Division Street. Sgt. Cameron advised the juveniles of the curfew hours. They advised they didn’t realize it was so late. Sgt. Cameron transported the juveniles’ home for the evening.

June 3, 1:13 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious person call in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Upon arrival, Sgt. Cameron contacted the complainant who advised a female and a male subject were outside trying to get water from the faucet on the east side of the home. Complainant advised this was the third night in a row this has happened. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant to call back if they hear or see anything in progress.

June 3, 1:08 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a citizen assist call in the 300 block of West Ninth Avenue. Dispatch advised of an 80-year old male with a high heart rate, uncontrollable shaking, feeling cold and confused.

June 2, 10:40 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a nuisance call in the 200 block of East Fir Avenue. Dispatch advised of loud music from the location. Sgt. Cameron contacted the owner of the property by phone who advised they had a bonfire and some music, but didn’t think it was loud. The subject advised the music was off and their guests were gone.

June 2, 10:31 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible domestic in the 400 block of West Sixth Avenue. Dispatch advised of a male subject refusing to leave and taunting the complainant. Upon arrival, Sgt. Cameron contacted the complainant outside and the male subject came outside and made a comment to the complainant who lost their temper and shoved the male subject in the chest. Sgt. Cameron arrested Melissa Stilson for assault in the fourth degree domestic violence and booked her into Adams County Jail.

June 2, 7:34 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible DUI in the 100 block of North Washington Street. Dispatch advised of an intoxicated male driver leaving in a grey car headed toward Railroad Avenue. Sgt. Cameron located the vehicle while it was in motion and did not observe any traffic violations.

June 1, 7:09 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a juvenile problem in the 100 block of East Birch Avenue. Upon arrival, the complainant advised a juvenile male destroyed their son’s glasses. Sgt. Cameron took statements from both juveniles and it could not be proven who broke the glasses.

June 1, 2:33 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a harassment call in the 100 block of West Ninth Avenue. Upon arrival, the complainant advised of a juvenile male who continually calls the house after they asked him not to. Chief McCormick contacted the juvenile’s father who advised they will have the phone service suspended on the juvenile’s phone.

June 1, 12:35 a.m. – Dispatch advised of a domestic violence assault in the 100 block of East Fir Avenue. Officer Gracie arrived and the suspect had fled the scene. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who provided a written statement. Charging documents were filed with the prosecutor’s office.
