New hospital is the only alternative

First off! Kudos to Eric Walker, for his excellent presentation on the need for the new hospital. I agree 100 percent with his analysis. I know most of us are concerned about the cost but the advantages definitely out-way the disadvantages in the long run. This town has a reputation for continuing to kick the can down the road so it becomes someone else’s problem instead of dealing with the issue at hand and resolving it in a timely, necessary and responsible manner.

The new hospital, not a compromised renovation of the old, is the only responsible alternative.

Hospital Board, do your job and find a reasonable way to fund it. It is in all of our best interests to do so.

Secondly! City of Ritzville needs to get the old high school to a landfill as fast as possible. My dream for its replacement is a 50-meter competition indoor swim pool that everyone can enjoy all year around. And while we are at it, name it the Benner T. Cummings Swimming Complex.

Miles Athey,

Ritzville
