Geocache added to Memorial Day weekend events

The Memorial Day weekend festivities in Ritzville have now expanded to include a geocaching event titled Ritzville Small Town Cache Cow. The geocaching contest is being held in conjunction with the annual Historic Ritzville Days and Western Art Show.

The geocache begins with a meet and greet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the Ritzville Public Library. The geocaching event is unveiling 15 new caches that will go live the day of the event.

At 10 a.m., an optional cache-hunting contest is available for any individual interested in partaking in another hunt. The details and rules of the hunt will be explained and entry forms distributed.

The first 50 geocachers to return to the library with the completed entry forms receive a special pathtag.

From 2-8 p.m., a variety of geocaching activities are planned including bingo and a geocache container contest. Food vendors and geocache vendors are also expected to be on site.

The Ritzville Small Town Cache Cow event and updates are available on http://geocaching.com, and can be found by searching the event number, GC47CVZ.
