Meise happy to be working in hometown

David Meise has joined the staff of the U.S. Bank in Ritzville, as the new bank manager. Meise is replacing Bob Emmons, who changed from the local bank branch earlier this month.

Meise originally transferred to the Ritzville branch to serve as the assistant manager, but applied for the bank manager position after Emmons announced his decision to switch branches. Meise served a short stint as assistant manager and has been serving as manager for about a month.

A third generation of his family in Ritzville, Meise is excited about the opportunity to work in a full-time position at the local branch. Meise and his wife, Kayla, are currently expecting twins and also have a one-year-old son.

During his time at the Sprague branch, Meise felt he had to split his time between the two communities. Now, Meise can commit his time to the Ritzville community, an opportunity Meise is excited to take advantage of.

Meise serves as the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague high school assistant coach for the wrestling team, and is head coach for the middle school wrestling team. For the past two years, Meise has also served as the head coach for the local Little Guy wrestling squad.

Meise attended Eastern Washington University where he graduated with a degree in criminal justice and psychology. Meise began his banking career in short-term loans, which eventually led to a job with U.S. Bank.

For the past three years, Meise worked as the assistant manager at the U.S. Bank branch in Sprague. Meise enjoys helping customers with their accounts, but his favorite part of the job is engaging in conversation with customers.

Meise said he had always planned to return to Ritzville because it is a great community, and a good place to raise children. The job opportunity presented itself at a perfect time, and Meise could not be more excited and pleased with the current situation.

“I’m just learning another end of the spectrum. It’s a new challenge,” Meise said about his position as manager. “I wouldn’t mind retiring from this chair.”

Meise is focusing on helping customers with loans and creating accounts, but looks forward to being a part time bank teller as well. The bank teller job provides him with an opportunity to engage with more customers to learn their needs and also to learn the demographic of the bank.

Now, Meise looks forward to continuing to work with Emmons to learn the ropes of the job and how to best serve the customers’ needs in Ritzville.

“We have a great team. We have two experienced tellers and assistant manager. We’re going to be unstoppable,” Meise commented about the staff at the local branch.

The Ritzville U.S. Bank branch is located at 101 East Main Avenue. For more information, call 659-0120 or visit U.S. Bank’s website at http://usbank.com.
