Spokane Ag Expo 2013 sets Photography Contest

Spokane Ag Expo, celebrating its 36th year, will again feature the popular photography contest celebrating agriculture at the 2013 show. Photographers are asked to submit entries depicting “Agriculture in the Inland Northwest” by Nov. 30. Photographs are to be displayed at Spokane Ag Expo 2013, which is held in the Spokane Convention Center Complex in the exhibit halls. Dates of the show are Feb. 5–7.

“The photography contest continues to be a popular event at the show during Ag Week and continues to grow,” said show manager Myrna O’Leary. “The impressive photo gallery area has become a favorite stopping place for everyone attending the show.”

The winning entries receive cash prizes and ribbons for first, second and third place in both the adult and youth (under 18 years of age) divisions. Ribbons are also awarded for honorable mention and manager’s choice. Everyone that enters receives two free tickets to Spokane Ag Expo that are good for all three days of the show.

Contestants are asked to submit either color or black and white prints in a minimum size of 8x10 inches and maximum size of 11x14 inches. Photos need to be mounted on cardboard or matting, not framed. Photos also must be submitted in “high quality” on a disc clearly marked with the photographer’s name and contact information. No more than four photos can be entered by a contestant. Winners in each category are judged by area photographers, based on theme, composition and creativity.

Spokane Ag Expo is the largest farm machinery show in the Inland Northwest. The trade show is all under one roof in the Spokane Convention Center Complex in the exhibit hall with over 250 exhibitors utilizing over 100,000 square feet of show space. The show provides the best possible marketing showcase of agricultural equipment and related products to the large and small producer, rancher, farmer and small acreage landowner.
