Swannack has sights on National Junior High Rodeo Finals

Tommi Sue Swannack, a seventh grade student at Lamont Middle School, has earned a position on the Washington State National Junior High rodeo team and is traveling with fellow teammates to Gallup, New Mexico at the end of June to compete at the eighth annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo.

Swannack placed in all her events at the state finals, held in Kennewick in May and qualified to compete in goat tying, breakaway roping, ribbon roping and target shooting at the national competition. She was also selected to win the Cinch Academic Award.

Swannack is the daughter of Tom and Holly Swannack of Sprague. She has been competing at local and junior rodeos throughout Eastern Washington since she was five-years-old. This is her second year as a member of the Washington Junior High School Rodeo Association.
