Lucille E. Telecky

Lucille E. Telecky passed away at the age of 89 on May 19 after a brief illness.

She is the daughter of Henry and Anna (Rosenoff) Danekas, and was born on Sep. 12, 1922, on a farm near Ritzville.

She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1940. During WWII she served in the United States Navy (Waves) from 1944 to 1946. In 1948, she married Raymond Telecky.

She worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 30 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Zion Philadelphia UCC; being very active in the church choir, she also served as Treasurer, Clerk of the Board and Moderator. She loved to entertain family and friends. Her favorite times were holiday dinners spent with family with many wonderful memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna; husband Raymond; and brother, Ralph Danekas.

She is survived by a daughter, Rae Ann Telecky of Ritzville; son Alan H. (Annamae) Telecky of Aberdeen; and grandson, Alan J. (Kelsey) of Corvallis, Ore .; brother, Robert Danekas and sisters-in-law Rosaline (Boosie) Longmeier and Ruth Telecky; great-granddaughter, Elia Telecky and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on May 23 and 24 at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville. A private family graveside service will be held prior to the church service at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.

Funeral services are set for today, Thurdsay, May 24, at 11 a.m. at Zion Philadelphia UCC, 301 E. Broadway, Ritzville. A reception at the church will follow the services. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Wishing Star Foundation, 139 S Sherman, Spokane WA 99202.
