LHS Senior Transition class sets presentations

The Lind High School Senior Transition Class is doing presentations at Lind High School on April 23 and 24, starting at 6:30 pm.

They are utilizing three classrooms, and conducting nine presentations per night.

Schedules are posted on the clasroom doors the night of the presentation.

Students in the class are required to create a writing portfolio with samples of their high school work, a “High School and Beyond Plan,” a Senior Project – that can be a school, community, or personal project; or research and write on a topic of interest.

They also are required to do two job shadows, a 10-page research paper and a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation for parents, teachers and community members.

The presentations are judged by two community members and or Lind High School staff members.

The Senior Culminating Project guidelines were set up by a committee of teachers and community members from Lind, using the Washington State graduation requirements.

To prepare for this the students must complete assessments, college and career research, apply for the FAFSA, complete college applications, study the proper way to complete scholarships, write scholarship essays, write a speech from their research paper and create a PowerPoint presentation.

Schedules can be found at the Lind High School office.
