Hoof Beat: Student News from Ritzville Grade School

On Monday, Jan. 9, the fifth-12th grade band students had their very first concert of the year! Many members of the community came to the grade school gym to support the Ritzville School Bands. All of the band members did a great job performing.

There were two duets performed in the sixth grade section of the concert. Emma Aldrich and Sierra Kiel played “To a Wild Rose” on their saxophones. They even wrote part of the song changing it from a solo to a duet! Peyton Curtis and Rachel Schell played “American Patrol” on their trumpets. The notes were clear and on key.

For the finale of the concert, the seventh – 12th grade band performed “All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth!” Everyone did an outstanding job!

Ritzville School District will have no school on Monday, Jan. 16, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day. Another reminder is that on Wednesday, Jan. 25, the first semester ends. The teachers will be putting in the final grades on Friday, Jan. 27, so there will be an early release that day. Enjoy!
