Ritzville Community Theatre presents their new play “Three in a Row: A Game Show.” The play will take place from Dec. 7-10 at Casuela’s Grill.

“Three in a Row: A Game Show” is written by Miles Athey and Harry Schafer, and directed by Harry Schafer. The play is a “take-off” of the TV show Hollywood Squares that was popular from 1966 to 1981. The play is based on audience participation and will have prizes throughout the play.

The cast for this year includes, Kirk Danekas, Joan Bohna, Jean Richards, Lee Egnew, Dede Brown, Bill Sager, Ethel Rott, Kathryn Schafer, Harry Schafer and Miles Athey.

Kirk Danekas plays Host Marshall Peters in the production. Danekas is a retired undertaker, former mayor of Ritzville and a sponsor of the “Digs” golf tournament. This is Danekas’ first appearance with the Ritzville Community Theatre.

Joan Bohna will be playing the part of Minnie Squirrel in the production. Bohna is originally from Tacoma but has lived in Ritzville for the past nine years. Her sister, Ethel Rott, is also in the play with her. This will be Bohna’s fourth time in a RCT production.

Jean Richards plays the part of Agatha Preakness. Richards is a former business owner, avid gardener and accomplished potter. This will be Richards’ fifth time in an RCT production.

Lee Egnew will be in the role of General Sanders. Egnew recently came to Ritzville after retiring from Rainer Ballistics in Tacoma.

He restores antique tube-driven radios to operating order. This is Egnew’s first time in an RCT production.

Dede Brown plays the role of Suzanne Winters. Brown is retired and active in the Victorian Society as well as RCT. This is her third RCT production.

Bill Sager will be playing Scooter Pyle. Sager is a 24 year resident of Ritzville and a former business owner. He participated in many high school plays and this is his fourth RCT performance.

Ethel Rott will be in the role of Maxine Minimum. Rott has been a part of RCT for a long time and designs costumes, sets, set dressings and creates an ambiance between the stage and the audience. This will be her fifth time in an RCT role.

Kathryn Schafer play Dollie Dank. Kathryn is performing in her 17th RCT production and she has also co directed two productions.

Harry Schafer will play the role of Crab Creek Kid. Harry is an RCT veteran having directed eight shows and performed in 11 productions. Harry has been a City Councilman and this is his second RCT production with co-writer Miles Athey.

Miles Athey plays the part of Peggy Ruski. Athey is a retired environmental toxicologist. He has performed in over 27 roles and directed 11 productions. His book, Crab Creek Chronicles, is about Ritzville in 1882 and is one of the prizes at the play.

The crew for this production includes stage manager and hostess Lisa Simonsen, costumes by Ethel Rott, set and props by Harry Schafer and Miles Athey, and table decorations by Ethel Rott.
