Lady Tigercats split in pair of net matches

On Tuesday, the St. John-Endicott Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Tigercats in St. John with three back-to-back sets – 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20.

While the scoreboard was in favor of SJE, the LaCrosse-Washtucna athletes did well on the court, according to head coach Sarah Mayer.

“The girls covered the block well, which we have been working on and I was pleased with their digging,” she said. “We will continue to work hard and have fun. The girls did a good job!”

Logan Harder led the team with 11 kills and 16 digs. Anne Fleming provided 13 assists while Kadie Whinery logged four blocks.

Last Thursday, the Lady Tigercats rallied for a victory in Washtucna against Touchet in four, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-16.

For the night, Harder had 13 kills. Fleming provided 14 assists and nine digs. Shayla Sisk logged two blocks and Haley Dorman had three aces.

The floor game is improving, and communications between players aided in the win.

“The girls had a lot of fun. They communicated well and did a nice job adjusting,” Mayer said. “We will continue to work on transitioning quicker. Our team did a great job serving tonight!”
