    The Adams County Sheriff’s Office, is partnering with the Town of Lind to provide a summer-end gathering. On Saturday, Aug. 12, ACSO and the town of Lind will show a free movie at the City Park at 8 p.m. Lind Community Church will have refreshments for purchase.     The Grant County Health District has issued an air advisory as a result of wildfire smoke affecting the air quality in Grant County and the North Central Washington area. The smoke is not expected to clear in the near future keeping the air quality between unhealthy for sensitive groups and unhealthy for all groups.     The Wheat Land Communities’ Fair Model Kit Department would like to build a Free Lego Play Area for all to enjoy at the fair in memory of Cole Melcher. Cole loved Legos, and the department is asking for the community’s help to donate Legos to the cause.     Irrigation water demands are beginning to decline and, as in past years, the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will soon scale back ditchrider service from six days to five days per week. Full Saturday service will be provided through Sept. 2. After that date, ditchrider service will only be available Monday through Friday, and the Moses Lake and Othello Watermaster Offices will be closed on weekends.     The Lind and Ritzville fire departments kicked off August with four fires in a span of three days. On Aug. 1, the Lind Fire Department responded to a stubble fire on Roloff Road. Lind Fire Chief Kevin Starring said the blaze, which stemmed from a combine, burned 200 acres. The fire threatened one structure, but crews put it out before it reached the building.
