Micheala Doyle, a senior at Lind High School, is collecting eyeglasses for those in need of prescription lenses in the community. Doyle set up drop boxes for the eyeglasses at three locations, Jim’s Market, Ritzville Drug Company and Harvest Foods. The fundraiser began on Jan. 2 and the first collection will run until Feb. 2. Ritzville Lumber will open its doors to the public this weekend for a soft opening. A grand opening is planned for a few months later, after the store’s inventory has been completely reset. The store will be open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday hours for now will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a significant amount of scrap lumber, metal, peg board and other materials that have been removed from the building.
