Local girls sweep St. George’s

SPANGLE – The Broncos girls volleyball team topped the Liberty Lancers, 3-1, in a Northeast 2B matchup Thursday, Oct. 13.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington won the first set, before dropping the second then coming back to win the next two.

Set scores are 25-17, 18-25, 25-23 and 25-22.

In the game Saturday at Liberty, Saige Galbreath and Taylor Galbreath each had 14 kills for the Broncos. The duo also combined for 11 digs each.

Zoe Gabreath had 22 assists and 5 aces.

Saige Garbreath also had 3 blocks.

The win follows the Broncos 3-0 sweep of St. George’s on Monday, Oct. 10.

Set scores were 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20.

Taylor Galbreath had 11 kills and 14 digs in that game.

Zoe Galbreath had 17 assists; Saige Galbreath had 2 blocks.

And Addy Colbert served 9 aces for the Broncos.

Hadlie Kaiser led St. George’s with 9 kills.

The local girls were scheduled to host Davenport at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18 and then Kettle Falls 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22.

Next Tuesday, the local girls travel to Colfax to take on the Bulldogs in a match that could determine who sits atop the Northeast 2B league.
