Bronco girls top Riverside

DEER PARK – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Bronco girls got their first win of the season Tuesday, Dec. 21, beating the Riverside (Chattaroy) Rams, 43-24, in the Stag Classic Tournament.

Zoe Galbreath scored 11 and Grace Fedie added 9 for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague.

On Wednesday, Dec. 22, the second day of the tournament, the girls fell to host Deer Park (7-1) by a score of 51-32.

Amelia Court had 7 points and Harlee Hennings had 6, while Fedie and Galbreath each had 5.

The girls enter the holiday break with a record of 1-5 overall, with no league games played.

Looking ahead, the Broncos host Columbia (Burbank) on Dec. 29 and Northwest Christian (Colbert) on Jan. 4.

Bronco boys win one, lose one

DEER PARK – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys basketball team (5-3, 1-1 in league) won one and lost one in the Stag Classic Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 21-22.

The boys won their first game Tuesday, Dec. 21, over the winless Riverside (Chattaroy) Rams, 56-53.

Hunter Dinkins scored 14 points, Jayce Kelly added 13 and Chase Galbreath had 12.

The boys lost the second game Wednesday to the host Deer Park Stags (6-1), 49-41.

Chase Galbreath led the Broncos with 15 points and Hunter Dinkins added 13.

The Bronco boys will next host the undefeated Columbia (Burbank) Coyotes (8-0) on Dec. 29. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

Next week, they will host the Northwest Christian (Colbert) Crusaders (5-4) on Jan. 4.

Traditional hunting class planned

RITZVILLE – A traditional hunter education classroom course is being offered Jan. 31-Feb. 5.

Classroom instruction will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Washington State University Extension Office, 205 W. Main Ave. Range instruction will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Ritzville Gun Club of Gun Club Road near the Washington State Patrol Office.
