Bronco boys win two

RITZVILLE – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys basketball team won two more games last week, improving to 4-2 on the season.

Meanwhile, the girls basketball team is still looking for its first win.

Both teams hosted Reardan on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The boys won, 60-44.

Jayce Kelly scored 18 points; Chase Galbreath added 12 and Hunter Dinkins had 9.

The girls lost, 45-21.

Then on Friday Dec. 17, both Broncos teams traveled to Warden to take on the Cougars.

The boys won, 74-43.

Brock Kinch led all scorers with 16 points, including three shots from behind the 3-point line.

Chase Galbreath had 11 points, Hunter Dinkins and Jayce Kelly each had 10 and Hayden Melcher added 9 in the convincing win.

The boys team has a record of 4-2 overall, 1-1 in league play.

The girls lost, 78-19, and are still looking for their first win on the season.

Individual girls stats were not reported for either game last week.

Looking ahead, the Broncos play in the Stag Classic Tournament at Deer Park on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 21-2, before taking a week long holiday break.

The teams return to action Dec. 29 when they host Columbia (Burbank) at Gilson Gymnasium.

Wrestling

The Broncos wrestlers are scheduled to be on the mat again this week at the Tri-County Classic at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley.

Other teams expected to compete include the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves, Liberty (Spangle) Lancers and the Central Valley Bears, Oroville Hornets. West Valley (Spokane Valley) Eagles, Reardan and others.
