Vehicle catches fire on Highway 395

Firefighters quickly extinguished a vehicle fire on Highway 395 Thursday afternoon, July 1. The fire spread to a small area of grass along the highway before being completely extinguished a short time later.
LIND - Volunteer firefighters quickly responded to a vehicle that caught fire in the southbound lanes of Highway 395 at milepost 86, about four miles north of Lind Thursday afternoon, July 1.
The vehicle fire had begun to spread to grass on the side of the highway, just days after a fire torched 2200 acres in the same area.
A Washington State Patrol spokesman said the vehicle spontaneously ignited, and no one was injured in the fire.
Spokane Regional Transportation Management Agency put out an alert at 4:44 p.m., warning drivers of delays up until 5:30 p.m. The alert was cleared at 5:05 p....
