Investigative team releases officer-involved shooting video online

RITZVILLE — The Columbia Basin Investigative Team has released the dash cam video of the April 11 officer involved shooting. It is available online.

Shawn Lee, 48, of Susanville, Calif., died of three shots to the abdomen after advancing on Trooper Nathaniel Romaneschi and Ritzville Police Officer Jeff Lane while swinging a machete, the video shows and a related report concludes.

Lane used his Taser on Lee to no apparent effect, before firing his 9mm handgun three times, the report said. Lee was transported to East Adams Rural Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead.
