Lind-Ritzville cross country qualifies one runner for State Cross Country Meet

Lind-Ritzville cross country runner Linnea Schafer has qualified for the State Cross Country Meet after advancing through the Regional Meet on Oct. 27 at the Harrington Golf Course.

Schafer, a sophomore, finished with a time of 22:40 in the 5,000 meter race, good for 19th place overall out of the 70 runners who qualified for the meet.

On the boy’s side, sophomore Sam Michels was the top finisher for the Broncos, finishing in 45th place (out of 94 runners) with a time of 19:18. Freshman Eli Michels finished soon after with a time of 19:43, good for 54th place.

The State Cross Country Meet will be held on Nov. 3 at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. The 1B/2B girl’s race is currently scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
