CELEBRATION. The Ritzville Public Library, now rebranded as the East Adams Library District, celebrated the official installation and completion of the elevator project in the local historic building. The Grand Reopening ceremony took place in the morning on Sept. 2, when community members, Library Board members, Library staff and former librarian Marge Dyke (center) gathered to celebrate the completion of the monumental project. Dyke addressed Library Director Kylie Fullmer, stating “I want to thank you Kylie for coming to Ritzville to be our first director with a degree in library science. Her expertise and energy has brought library services to many, many people in this area.” Fullmer said the project goal began before she started in the position, and it has taken her seven years to reach the project completion point. The project was able to happen with support from the Library Board and staff, as well as the countless individuals who began work on the project more than 20 years ago. -Journal photo by Katelin Davidson
