Einar L. Bengtson

Einar L. Bengtson lost his battle with cancer on July 5 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Ritzville to Einar and Carla (Labes) Bengtson of Lind and was baptized and confirmed at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind.

He graduated from Lind High School in 1972 and attended Eastern Washington University where he met his wife, Ann Kosta. Together they moved to Phoenix where they married in December 1975.

Einar purchased Apache Awning from his boss in 1996 and continued to run the canvas products business until June 2016 when he was forced to retire due to his illness.

He is survived by his wife Ann; sons Carl (Jamie) and C.J .; granddaughter Elena and grandson-on-the-way George; his parents and sister Sandy (Michael) Lohman.

Loving son, husband, dad and “farfar”. The best big brother a little sister could have. Always there to lend a helping hand, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home in Phoenix at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656. To donate online, visit http://hov.org/phoenix.
