Melville competes at State Tennis Tourney

Sophomore Rose Melville made a return trip to the State Tournament to compete in the 2B singles contest in Yakima on May 26-27.

Head Coach Liz Melville said Rose represented the Broncos well, and pushed herself in each match during the tournament.

In the first match of the tournament, Melville matched up against Taylor Kelly of Cascade. Melville won the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, and earned her sole win of her tournament.

Melville moved on to play Alexis Schorno from Charles Wright Academy. Melville lost the match in two sets: 6-3, 6-3.

In her last match of the tournament, Melville matched up against Bailee Wallace from Three Rivers Christian. Melville continued to battle until the end, but Wallace took the win, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Melville will continue on into the next season to continue her goal of returning to the state competition and earning a piece of hardware.

As an upperclassman in the upcoming season, she will also continue to be a leader and role model for new Bronco athletes to the tennis program.
