H.E. Gritman Senior Center announces holiday community activities

The H.E. Gritman Senior Center is looking forward to the upcoming holiday season by preparing for their activities for the community.

Residents have the opportunity to thank their favorite veterans for their service at the “Bring your favorite Veteran to Breakfast” event held on Veterans Day, Nov. 8 at the Senior Center. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and community members of all ages are invited to participate.

The H.E. Gritman Senior Center would like to remind residents lunches continue to be served every week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 p.m.

In spirit of the upcoming holidays, the center will be having their annual Thanksgiving Lunch on Nov. 17. Due to the fact meals are prepared fresh that day, participants are asked to call ahead to ensure there are enough meals prepared for everyone. To-go orders will be available.

In order to allow everyone to enjoy the holiday with their families, the center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, for Thanksgiving Day and will re-open for regular lunch schedule on Monday, Nov. 28.

Aside from holiday activities, the Senior Center invites community members to their weekly Bingo, which takes place on Tuesdays. Residents are invited to participate and refreshments are available during the event.

The H.E. Gritman Senior Center would like to express their appreciation for all those who support their efforts through donations, volunteering time, talent and food supplies, which allows the center to continue hosting events.

Currently the center is seeking anyone who may be interested in serving on the Board of Trustees for 2017. Interested residents can contact and leave a message the H.E, Gritman Senior Center at 659-1921.
