Meeting scheduled to discuss a dog park in Ritzville

Tail Waggin Dog Park Club is hosting a public meeting to discuss plans to create an off-leash dog park in Ritzville. The goal is to construct a fenced and gated off-leash area for dogs to play and run in.

The meeting is being held at the H.E. Gritman Senior Center on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.

The Club is working to complete Phase I by Thanksgiving 2016.

The mission of the Tail Waggin Dog Park Club is to establish a dog park where well-behaved canines can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or bothering residents, property or wildlife.

In addition to Ritzville residents with dogs, the Park will provide a space for travelers from Interstate 90 and US 395 to exercise their dogs and encourage visitors to stop in Ritzville.

The long-term goal is to sponsor and help maintain a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park’s rules and restrictions.

The Club committee members view this park as a community project, in partnership with the City of Ritzville, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike.

The Tail Waggin’ Dog Park is a nonprofit organization.
