Arthur F. Sanger

Arthur F. Sanger died on July 15, in Baker City, Oregon. He was born at home in Molson, Washington, to Fred and Vivien Sanger on Sept. 20, 1939. He was the oldest of four children.

His family later moved to Eloika Lake, where he graduated from Riverside High School in 1957. In 1960 he moved to Roswell, New Mexico, to start a career with General Dynamics. During which he was part of the project that launched the first unmanned rocket into outer space.

He moved back to Ritzville in 1972 and bought the family business, The Kernel Freeze.

Then in the 1980s, he started a new career at the Washington State Department of Transportation and retired from there in 2007.

Art loved team roping and rodeo, and was the president of the Ritzville Rodeo Association for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved the Blue Mountains. A camping trip with family and friends was his idea of a good time.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, his siblings Marge Schoessler (Bob), Mikki Kison (Ron), Don Sanger (Janet) and his daughter Mona Sanger, grandchild Kayla Arritola, great-grandson Skyler, son Scott Sanger, grandchildren Tristan, Travis, and Toby, daughter Rhonda Schafer (Jeff), grandchildren Georgia, Audra, Wyatt and Wade, and daughter Kelli Carmony (Jay), grandchildren James and Lilly.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Vivien Sanger and two grandsons, Alex Arritola and Tom Sanger.
