Broncos golf team sends three to District Tournament

On April 25 Northwest Christian High School and St. George’s High School hosted an All League match at Deer Park Golf Club.

Three girls participated from the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague team; Tessa Jantz shot a 98, Mickayla Hall shot a 125 and Morgan Lane shot a 139.

There were additionally three boy athletes golfing in this match.

Michael Shields shot an 82 to earn seventh place, Ryan Frederick shot a 91 and Pake Taylor shot a 125.

The LRS Broncos also played in a match hosted by Cusick High School at StoneRidge Golf Course on May 3.

Jantz shot a 93 earning herself seventh place, Hall earned 113 strokes, Kierstin Witt shot a 140 and Lane shot 129.

Shields led the way for the boys shooting an 86 getting fifth place, Frederick shot a 94 followed by Morgan Brausen with a 95. Taylor shot a 114 and Carlos Vuilleumier shot a 106.

On Monday, May 9, five Lind-Ritzville/Sprague golfers participated in the Sub District Tournament at the Deer Park Golf Course.

Competing for the boys were Shields, Frederick and Braunsen, while Jantz and Hall competed for the girls.

Shields received an 84 and earned fifth place, Frederick shot a 104 and placed at 21 situating him in the top 50 percent to move onto districts.

Jantz scored a 96 putting her at sixth place.

Brausen shot a 106 and Hall shot a 139, both narrowly missing the cut off for the next tournament.

Moving on to the District Tournament on Tuesday, May 17, were Shields, Frederick and Jantz.
