LRS track competes at Team Championship

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague track and field team traveled to Mt. Spokane High School to compete in the NE 2B/District 7 Team Championship on May 5.

This served as the final meet prior to the District track meet held in Ritzville on May 10.

During the Team Championship meet, the boys finished fourth with 73 points and the girls came in fifth with 75 points.

For the boys’ team, Alan Field continued to have a successful performance by earning first place in the 200-meter race and the long jump competition.

Field also took home a second place finish in the 100-meter, and ran a leg of the first place 4x100-meter relay team.

For the girls’ team, Rachel Schell posted a third place finish in the 100 and 200 races. She also ran a leg on the first place 4x100 relay team, and on the second placing 4x200-meter relay team.

Felicia Ziemer also had a successful outing, bringing home a second place finish in the 800-meter.

She also ran a leg on the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, as well as running the anchor leg on the third place 4x400-meter relay team.

The District results were unavailable at press time, but any Bronco athlete who placed in the top nine in a field event or the top five of a running event will have the opportunity to move on and compete in the Regional track meet on May 20-21.
