Community churches announce Easter, Holy Week services

The area churches have announced when their worship days will be for Holy Week and Easter.

The New Hope Center, located at 701 West Main Avenue in Ritzville, will hold their Sunday Easter Service on March 27 at 10:30 a.m.

The Ritzville Foursquare Church, located at 204 East Second Avenue in Ritzville, will take part in a Good Friday service and host an Easter Sunday Brunch at 10:15 a.m. with their service following at 11 a.m.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 606 Weber Avenue in Ritzville, will have their service on March 27 at 10 a.m.

St. Agnes Catholic Church in Ritzville at 404 East Fifth Avenue will have a Palm Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. on March 20. On Tuesday, March 22, Stations of the Cross will take place at 5:30 p.m.

Holy Thursday on March 24 will include Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 5:15 p.m. at St. Agnes. On March 25 there will be a Celebration of the Lord’s Passion for Good Friday at 5:15 p.m. Easter Sunday Mass will be at 10 a.m.

Emanuel Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday soup and service on March 24 with soup served at 6 p.m. and the service following at 7 p.m.

Their Good Friday service will take place at 7 p.m. Easter Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. followed by their service at 11 a.m.

Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ in Ritzville at 301 East Broadway Avenue will hold a Palm Sunday breakfast at 9 a.m. followed by church at 10:30 a.m.

On March 24, Maundy Thursday worship will take place followed by a special dinner. The church requests a notification of patron’s attendance prior to this dinner.

On Good Friday the church will be open for prayer and meditation from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

On Easter Sunday the Zion congregation will meet at 6:30 a.m. in front of the Ritzville Cemetery for Sunrise Easter Service. They will also host a regular Easter Service at 10:30 a.m.

The Washtucna Community Church will have a Palm Sunday message from Matthew 21:1-27 at 11 a.m. on March 20.

Lloyd Stoess will lead a symbolic “Seder Meal” at 7 p.m. on March 24. This will not be a full meal so attendees are encouraged to eat a light meal prior to attending.

A candlelight service beginning at 7 p.m. will take place on Friday, March 25, with a crucifixion message from Matthew 26:31-27:66.

There will be a Sunrise Easter Service in Washtucna on March 27 at 8 a.m. followed by Easter Breakfast. Another Easter Service will take place at 11 a.m. with a message from Matthew 28:1-20.

The Lind Community Church will be holding an Easter Service at 10 a.m. They will also combine with the Cavalry Assembly of God Church for Palm Sunday Services at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalry Assembly of God Church located at 219 West Third Street.

Easter Sunrise Service will take place at Roy and Karen Clinesmith’s ranch on Mack Road south of Benge at 7 a.m. at the Hill of the Three Crosses.
