Burning season ends in Ritzville, Washtucna Sunday

Open burning within Adams County and the city limits of Ritzville and Lind will close at dusk on Sunday, June 14, according to Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 Chief Scott Kembel, Ritzville Fire Chief Jim Bostic, and Adams County Fire Protection District No. 7 Washtucna Chief Nick Johnston.

Adams County Fire Protection District No. 2 Lind Chief Kevin Starring said the district is closing open burning on July 1.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas. Burning season remains closed until some time in the fall.
