Lady Broncos move on to districts

The Lady Broncos hosted a doubleheader against Davenport Tuesday, April 21, which resulted in two losses for Ritzville.

The first game remained close until the seventh inning where Davenport pulled through with a score of 6-5. The Lady Broncos’ offense could not get momentum though the Davenport pitching was only decent.

The second game against the Lady Gorillas resulted in a loss for the Lady Broncos in the fifth inning with a score of 12-1.

Saturday, April 25, the Lady Broncos hosted Liberty, winning both games and confirming advancement into districts.

In the first game, the Lady Broncos had 17 hits, but five errors made by the Lady Broncos allowed Liberty to score.

Jana Mattox pitched the game and did very well. Offensively, Sarah Aldrich batted five for five with two double hits and Tessa O’Brien hit two home runs in the last half of the game. The Lady Broncos won 17-8 in the first game.

The second game against Liberty proved successful with the Lady Broncos winning 23-3. Emma Aldrich pitched aggressively and offensively hit a triple. Mattox batted four for four and scored four runs. Emily Rosen had two hits with one resulting in a triple.

The Lady Broncos honored their seniors at the game against Mary Walker.

Updates of this game will be available next issue and Lady Broncos will begin their road to the playoffs.
