Roger Schwab

Roger was born in Rugby, ND on December 4, 1938 to Peter and Frances Schwab the seventh of 11 siblings. He graduated from Crary High School, Crary, ND in 1957.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961 and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal. He married in 1960 and had four children. He lived in Southern California until 1975 when he moved to the Seattle area.

He worked in the blueprint business until 1978 when after having a love for carpentry all his life, he began his own remodeling business. He worked in the construction business for a larger company as a job superintendant and much requested finish carpenter until his retirement in 2008.

He married his soul mate, Sandee in April 15, 1983 and acquired two step-sons. Together he and Sandee spent 32 happy years together until he passed on their 32nd anniversary. Roger had a great love for the Marine Corps and was reunited with men he served with in 2003 at the second of 11 reunions and close bonds of friendships were forged. He loved attending the reunions and even during his battle with cancer, managed to attend one last one in September, 2015 in Branson, MO. This was the only thing on his “bucket list” as he said he had done far more than he ever imagined he would during his life and was content.

Roger and Sandee retired to Ritzville in July, 2010 and enjoyed life playing golf, coffee with the guys, Lions Club, Church and spending time with friends. After a courageous battle with inoperable pancreatic cancer, Roger died on April 15.

He is survived by his wife, Sandee, children, Scott (Amber), Randy (Ann), Mike (Lisa) and Debra, Step-sons Stephen (Nancy) and Jason, 15 grandchildren and four brothers, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held April 25 at Ritzville Foursquare Church at 11 a.m. and followed by a reception at the American Legion Hall.

Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory-Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
