Sheriff discusses issues with overbooking at county jail

heriff John Hunt met with Adams County Commissioners Monday, April 13, to discuss overcrowding of the county jail.

Hunt reported on concerns with monthly bookings through March considering the lack of space and funding for housing inmates.

Currently the jail is in “code red” status, limiting the acceptance of inmates to mandatory arrests, including D.U.I.’s, domestic violence and felony arrests.
