Courthouse elevator project to begin soon

Adams County Engineer Scott Yaeger reported on routine road maintenance and updates to the courthouse renovations during the Public Works meeting with the Adams County Commissioners.

Yaeger informed commissioners with potato seeding in progress, county gravel roads near Lind will require weekly upkeep.

Yaeger reported of current brooming, pothole patching and when weather permits county workers will continue spraying weeds.

In Othello, Danielson Road has been patched up and Cunningham Road Bridge between Booker and Lucy Roads has been repaired.

Yaeger reported Roxboro culvert was inserted and after applying the top course, the project will be complete.

The courthouse third floor restroom project is near completion and the elevator renovation project is set to begin Tuesday, April 21. Yaeger reported the elevator will be closed for the originally planned timeframe of two weeks and has requested proper notification for courthouse patrons of the closure.

The east side courthouse entrance is now unavailable for public access, and courthouse employees will be able to access the courthouse through keycards.

Yaeger requested temporary signs be made to inform patrons of the change in access to the courthouse until the agreement on permanent signs can be made. The west entrance will remain open to the public and ADA compliant.
