WLCF royalty applications available

The Wheat Land Communities’ Fair Board is accepting applications for 2015 Fair Royalty.

Three positions are open to female teenagers between the ages of 14-18 who live within the boundaries of the Lind, Ritzville and Washtucna School Districts. Applicants must be currently enrolled in school, and entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2015.

Those chosen to represent the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair will be the official hostesses at this years’ fair, which will be held Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-6. The royalty will assist in the presentation of trophies, awards and ribbons during the fair, as well as appear in local parades this summer.

Announcement of the 2015 royalty is made at the fair’s annual Wampum fundraising event on April 25.

Judging is completed prior to Wampum and is based on application information, personal interview and presentation of a 200-250 word essay on, “The Value of Wheat Land Communities’ Fair to the communities of Ritzville, Lind and Washtucna.”

Applications are available at the Lind-Ritzville and Washtucna high schools. The deadline is April 1.
