Ray Scholarship deadline April 1

Applications are due April 1 from students who plan to apply for the David L. and Francis G. Ray Scholarships. Each year the Ralston and Rimrock Granges award $3,000 in scholarships to deserving students. Gerald Ray, son of David and Francis, established the fund to honor their legacy and further education opportunities of local students.

Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 at either the Lind-Ritzville, Washtucna, or LaCrosse high schools, or be home-schooled in those districts.

Also eligible are students living outside these districts who are members of either Grange or are descendants of members.

Complete eligibility information and applications are available at the Inland Northwest Community Foundations website, http://www.INWCF.org, or by calling 888-267-5606.

Available to seniors in the Washtucna or Kahlotus schools, or members of the Ralston Grange, is the Marie Snyder Memorial Scholarship. Applications and more information regarding this $1000 scholarship can be obtained at the Washington State Grange website, http://www.wa-grange.org.

At both of these websites, a number of other scholarships are available, some requiring Grange membership but many open to non-members.
