Local photographer nets awards in Spokane Ag Expo contest

Karen Baumann of Washtucna received three awards after she submitted photos to the 2015 Spokane Ag Expo Photography contest.

The theme for the annual contest was Agriculture in the Inland Northwest.

Photographers were asked to submit their photos that depicted agriculture in the Inland Northwest.

Baumann took first place in the Adult Category with her photo “Stay Close.”

She also received the Show Director’s Choice award and the Greater Spokane Incorporated’s Choice Adult Category award for her photo “Standing in Daddy’s Overalls.”

Split into two categories, the 93 entries will be displayed at the 2015 Spokane Ag Expo in the Spokane Convention Center Exhibit Halls during “Ag Week in Spokane” Feb. 3 through Feb. 5.

The purpose of the contest is to promote Inland Northwest Agriculture and to give amateur photographers from rural areas an opportunity for their work to be shown and recognized.
