EACH Foundation gives back to the community

As the East Adams County Healthcare Foundation prepares for the 22nd Annual Wine and Microbrew Tasting and Auction on Oct. 18, the organization also highlights nearly $60,000 of donations within the community in two years. The annual auction serves as one of the main monetary contributions and the organization gives the money back to the community for needs and expenses.

The auction, titled “Paint the Town Red”, begins at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Oct. 18. The event is catered by Cathy Jo’s Catering, and features a full meal and dessert. During the social hour and dinner, Del Schwisow has agreed to play pieces on the piano to enhance the evening’s atmosphere.

The EACH Foundation relies on the community for support and donations at the annual auction, and in turn, the organization gives back all of the money to the community. The EACH Foundation also sponsors scholarships for graduating seniors on a yearly basis.

In 2012-2013, more than $40,000 was disbursed back to the community for healthcare needs. The two largest donations of the year included the purchase of a Zoll’s Autopulse for CPR for the EMTs, and a large donation for the completion of the new ambulance building.

In 2013-2014, the EACH Foundation gave over $16,000 to the community, which included EMT educational supplies and nurse carts for the hospital.

Presale tickets are available for purchase for $25 at Leffel, Otis, and Warwick; Cow Creek Mercantile; and Wheatland Bank. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $30.

Auction donations can also be left with EACH Foundation members David Meise, Curt Greenwalt, Kellie Ottmar, Steve Taylor, Lynn Greenwalt, Joyce Preston, Mikki Kison, Brylee Edwards, Elena McKenzie, Vicki Johnson and Kayla Meise.
