Roy Laverne Bell

Roy Laverne Bell died Jan. 5 at The Dalles Health & Rehabilitation Center in The Dalles, Ore.

Roy was born in Riperia, Wash., on Oct. 23, 1927, to Robert Goodwin Bell and Minnie Belle MacGruder.

He had three sisters; Edna, Zella and Rita, and five brothers; Urgel, Robert (Merk), Benjamin, Verle (Bud) and Arthur (Ray). He grew up on a farm near Riperia and attended schools in Riperia, Colfax and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1945.

He spent two years in the Navy and was married to Vivian Largent in 1947.

They moved to her family’s, Lester and Ruth Largent, wheat farm in Kahlotus. Roy...
