One explosive play in the first 16 seconds of the game proved to be the play the Broncos needed most to ensure they would successfully defend their WIAA 2B State Championship from 2012.

Connor O’Neill bolted through the crowd of Morton-White Pass defenders and sprinted to the sidelines for a 69-yard stroll into the end zone that gave the Broncos a touchdown Saturday in the opening moment of their title rematch with the Timberwolves.

O’Neill scored just 16 seconds into the first quarter. Matt Leffel’s extra point kick capped the TD and gave the Broncos a 7-0 edge they would never relinquish.
