Broncos ready for Warden

The Broncos scored at will against Kittitas, drove the ball hard when faced with Reardan’s defense and generally dominated Colfax’s offense during Friday’s jamboree.

The team looked strong in many ways. Head coach Greg Whitmore was pleased with the experience as well, and found plenty of things to work on and fine tune.

“It was good. Our number one priority was to get out of there healthy and we did that,” Whitmore said. “We got some good film and there are a lot of things to correct and we have good ideas about the other teams in the league.”

Whitmore said his team needs to be more physical, especially on offense when near the goal line.

He also plans to lead the entire team through daily drills to improve their footwork.

The jamboree served as a solid dress rehearsal as the team prepares for its season opener at Jimmie Snider Field this Friday against Warden.

Warden runs a no-huddle offense and has a talented quarterback who is both fast and precise with his throwing arm. They are coming off a loss to Okanagon.

“Hopefully we have the advantage up front,” Whitmore said of his line. “Our quickness should give their linemen problems.”
