Backpack for Kids drive set

With school starting the first of next month, Sterling Bank is starting the annual Backpack for Kids drive. The four-week drive began on Aug. 1 and runs until Friday, Aug. 23.

Sterling Bank asks for community support to donate backpacks and school supplies to the drive. Monetary donations are also accepted and monies collected will go toward purchasing supplies still needed. At the conclusion of the drive the Sterling Bank employees assemble the items and deliver to local K-5 grade students, prior to the start of school on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

School supply lists for grades K-5 are available at Sterling Bank and Ritzville Drug Company. The teacher for each specific grade receives one backpack filled with new school supplies for the students in their class.

For more information about the Backpack for Kids drive, contact Sterling Bank at 659-0180. All school supplies can be delivered to Sterling Bank located at 108 East First Avenue in Ritzville.
